Literature Text

You ask me where I found true love?

I found it
in your rivers,
on your meadows,
in your cobbled streets,
in the smell of books,
and in the trembling sound of choir music at night.

I felt your kiss
in your soft air upon my lips
and the caresses of your wind upon my hair.

I lost my heart somewhere between your spires
to find it - never again.

So dream on, you ancient place of stone and memory.
In your splendor and wisdom
shine against the growing darkness, defy the dying light.
Until we meet again, dream on.
This is a love poem. To Oxford, the most beautiful city of them all.

This is utterly beautiful and I understand your feelings towards the city. For me, Oxford is only a dream so far; and I know that I'm not doing myself any favours by reading such mesmerizing poetry about the place because it will only make it feel worse if I don't get a place at the university, but when I come across something as magical as this, I can't help myself.
